Wemade launched WEMIX NFT Auction(https://wemixauction.com/) this June. Since then, increasingly diverse types of NFTs are being listed.
The first auction hosted by WEMIX NFT Auction was digital art from Shift Up’s game ‘The Reason Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion’. Soon, auctions for illustrations by Hyoungtae Kim, the CEO of Shift Up, followed. Auction for the original illustration for the first spread of the legendary fantasy comics <Lineage> by Shin Eel Suk drew a lot of attention. September saw the auction for limited items for a game ‘CrypTornado for WEMIX’; October saw auctions of humorous reimaginings of masterpieces of artists, such as Vincent Van Gogh, by health Youtuber Egg Kim.
WEMIX NFT Auction also hosted the sales of an NFT of MBC announcers’ reading of Hunminjeongeum Haerye, the first document written in the Korean alphabet, on Hangul Proclamation Day. Now, NFTs of photo news by Newsis, the biggest private news agency in Korea, will be on sale in limited numbers.
Five articles have been selected. ‘Thanks To You’, a gesture of gratitude towards healthcare workers in the front lines of the fight against the COVID-19 crisis; a photo of Dokdo; the Statue of Peace, in woolen hat and muffler; the yellow ribbon, commemorating the victims of the Sewol ferry disaster; and a photo of Choenji, on the summit of Baekdu Mt. were chosen. 24 NFTs will be made from each article; 120 NFTs in total.
Potential buyers can apply via WEMIX NFT Auction from Nov 10 to Nov 30, and the results will be announced on Dec 6. Winners can own and store the NFT in WEMIX Wallet, the wallet service of Wemade’s blockchain platform WEMIX, at the fixed price of 20 WEMIX.
100 NFTs out of 120 NFTs will be on sale. 20 will be presented by Newsis to ‘hidden heroes’ who help others, such as firefighters and nurses.
All proceeds will be donated to the Community Chest Of Korea by Newsis, as a part of the celebration of the agency’s 20th anniversary.
