Wemade Tree Invested in Frienkly, IRL-based Metaverse Developing Company
- Wemade Tree invested in Frienkly, founded by Jinseok Park, a co-founder of Neowiz
- IRL(In Real Life)-based voice messenger Tangled, targeted at Gen-Z, under development
- After launching in Korea and the U.S., will be expanded to global service
Wemade, in searching for business diversification, continues to invest in metaverse developing companies.
Wemade Tree, led by CEOs Shane Kim and Steve Oh, invested in Frienkly Inc, a metaverse developing company led by Jinseok Park.
Park, a KAIST computer science alumni, was a co-founder of Neowiz, and CEO of Bluehole Squall, the company that launched the mobile game ‘Tera M’.
Frienkly’s goal is to realize IRL(In Real Life)-based, Gen-Z focused ‘Zetaverse’, a new concept.
Tangled, an IRL communication platform which will transfer all schools worldwide to online and connect students, is under development.
Tangled can be used easily by students of all nations, and new value and students’ own blockchain economy will be built, enabling their own satisfactory virtual space.
Like Facebook that started as a college community-based site and went on to be the biggest community site in the world, school-based local voice messenger Tangled will be launched in Korea and the U.S., then will be expanded to a global service within this year.
Wemade Tree decided to invest in Frienkly, considering its growth plan, strong development manpower, and network. As Wemade pursues a metaverse business on a wide scale, Frienkly will be an invaluable partner.
