Wemade Tree Invested in Calaxy, a Blockchain-based Social Platform Led By Brooklyn Nets Point Guard Spencer Dinwiddie

Wemade Tree has invested in Calaxy, ‘Creators’ Galaxy’ founded and led by the NBA star point guard for Brooklyn Nets, Spencer Dinwiddie. So far, Calaxy has successfully raised USD 7.5 million.
Calaxy enables creators and influencers to issue their own tokens, and connect directly with fans through video messages, online classes, and fanclub subscriptions, etc., using the tokens. Creators can get support from their fanbase directly, and fans get perks, including exclusive contents and early news in return.
“The most exciting thing about the next step is getting this in fans hands and being able to accept feedback,” Dinwiddie said in an interview with CoinDesk. He’s known for being very active in the crypto and blockchain space, even attempting to tokenize his 3-year NBA contract on the Ethereum blockchain. Calaxy’s celebrity line-up includes LA Lakers center Andre Drummond and Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott, as well as Teyana Taylor, Elzo JamDong, Matt James, and many others. More than 70 creators and influencers have committed to joining Calaxy, where they can connect with more than 85 million fans on different social media, Calaxy commented.
Wemade Tree is expanding its investment to global blockchain startups. Investment in Calaxy, which is primarily targeting creators and fans in North America, would serve as a foothold for Wemade Tree’s future business and generate synergies with potential partners in the region, the company said.
