Wemade announced an event on WEMIX NFT Auction to promote Project Soldier: KWV NFT by director Hedy and photographer Rami.
Project Soldier visits Korean War veterans and shows gratitude by photographing and making videos of them. So far, the project made portraits of about 1,700 Korean and UN veterans, and the plan is to visit more veterans while they are still around.
This is Wemade’s first event with the project. This NFT contains a story of Norman Board, then-US Marine Corps who participated in the Battle of Chosin Reservoir(Jangjin-ho). He sent a telegram to his home after the Heungnam evacuation to avoid unnecessary worries of his parents, but things didn’t go the way he expected.
Potential NFT buyers can apply via WEMIX NFT Auction from 22 Dec to 9 Jan 2022. 500 winners will be chosen randomly; winners can purchase the NFT for 0.5WEMIX. Announcement for winner and NFT purchase period is from 13 Jan 2022 to 30 Jan 2022.
The second event will open in Feb 2022, and the third in June, commemorating the important dates of the war.
Wemade funded some of Project Soldier’s works, and all proceeds from these WEMIX NFT Auction events will go to Project Soldier.
“The most striking thing about the veterans’ photos is that you can clearly see they are proud that they were parts of the struggle for freedom,” said Rami. “It is an honor to capture the veterans’ pride.”
