WEMIX NFT Auction(https://www.wemixauction.com) announced the first NFT drop of ‘Lineage’, one of Korea’s most iconic IPs. The first cut of the first episode of the original comic book series and the voice-over narration by Eel Suk Shin, the creator of the series, will be converted into a NFT and put up for auction.
Since her debut in 1984, Shin has been one of the most prolific and influential comics artists in Korea. Her huge, genre-busting body of work encompasses fantasy, romance, and science fiction. ‘Four Daughters of Armian’, regarded by many to be one of her masterpieces, featured strong and independent female characters who led the plot, which was refreshingly different from the typical romance comics of the 1980s. ‘Lineage’, a fantasy based in the middle age, was made into a mega-hit game of the same name in 1998, making ‘Eel Suk Shin’ a household name for gamers around the globe.
The NFT contains a high-resolution image of the first cut of the ‘Lineage’ series, which is a two-page spread illustration, scanned from the original watercolor artwork by Shin, as well as a 3-minute audio clip of Shin’s comment on the cut, the series, and how it was turned into the hugely popular game. The auction starts at 6PM, July 12 on WEMIX NFT Auction and bidding will be closed at 9PM, July 14(KST). A live broadcast of the auction will be aired online from 8 to 9PM, July 14. The legendary artist herself will appear and share her Lineage stories. She will bring her own copy of the first book for the younger generation of fans to get a glimpse of Lineage’s beginnings.
