Wemade Tree Announces Strategic Investment in UT+ Interactive, a Metaverse Developing Company
- Wemade Tree invested in UT+, a developer and publisher of metaverse ‘Ditoland’
- Investment and MOU for the joint effort for blending blockchain and metaverse
- A new level of metaverse, so-called ‘Roblox 2.0’
On 23 April, Wemade Tree, a blockchain subsidiary of Korean game company Wemade, announced an investment in UT+ Interactive, a metaverse developing company behind ‘Ditoland’.
Founded in 2006, UT+ Interactive has launched various games such as ‘Talion’, a mobile MMORPG, and ‘Shadowblood’, a mobile action RPG while focusing on global metaverse environment. The result is ‘Ditoland’, a UCC(User Created Contents) metaverse platform where players can create their own world and enjoy other users’ creations. Players don’t need to have technical expertise to enjoy ‘Ditoland’. Beta version of ‘Ditoland’ can currently be played on PC, meaning UT+ is already in the metaverse market. Full version will be available on mobile and console as well, and cross-play between devices will also be supported.
Based on Unreal Engine, ‘Ditoland’ boasts high quality template and better graphic than the already existing metaverses, the features that make it an ‘evolved’ metaverse, so-called ‘Roblox 2.0’. Players can choose among three developing difficulty levels, thus enabling easier creation of high quality results. Visual scripting is provided for beginners, and skilled users can analyze and modify the module to create their own versions. High graphic quality was fully utilized to create adorable characters. Epic Games, the company that developed Unreal Engine, picked ‘Ditoland’ as ‘Epic Mega Grant’ even before its release.
Wemade Tree and UT+ Interactive also signed an MOU(Memorandum of Understanding), aiming to work closely together for blending blockchain and metaverse. Plans include enabling WEMIX and game tokens use on metaverse.
