Korea Digital Asset’s First Bitcoin Custody Clients Are Wemade and Wemade Tree
- Korea Digital Asset(KODA), invested by KB Kookmin Bank and Hashed, announces its first clients
- Digital assets custody and management, and wider range of cooperation is expected
On May 17, Wemade and its blockchain subsidiary Wemade Tree announced Bitcoin custody contracts with Korea Digital Asset(KODA).
Wemade has been investing in digital assets including Bitcoin to maximize the value of cashable assets. Wemade Tree, a blockchain-specialized subsidiary, is actively pursuing blockchain projects such as digital wallet and decentralized exchange, game, and NFT Market on its own blockchain platform WEMIX. Recently, the number of WEMIX daily active users surpassed 50,000, albeit launched only 4 months ago.
KODA is a digital asset custody service company established by KB Kookmin Bank, blockchain technology company Haechi Labs, and blockchain investment company Hashed, with the goal of playing the role of ‘digital bank’. Digital asset custody service allows clients to store and manage digital assets safely, and KODA officially launched the service on May 3. The first digital asset service company invested by a major bank, KODA currently provides the custody service for Bitcoin, Etherium, and Klay, and plans to expand its scope of service to NFT, and digital assets based on actual assets such as real estate, gold, and art in the future.
“Digital assets are an important part of Wemade’s business, and since we are actively investing in digital assets including Bitcoin, a reliable custody service is indispensable,” said Hyun-guk Chang, CEO of WeMade. “When we learned that KODA was launching the custody service, we immediately decided to be their first client.
